Chicago Community Ventures (CCV)

Description: Chicago Community Ventures (CCV) pairs financial services with consulting and business training to enable small business owners to expand their companies’ operating capacity, increase revenues and profits, gain access to capital and create jobs. Our services include small business loans, procurement services, matching Challenge Grants, assistance with economic development incentives for commercial revitalization, access to alternative sources of funding and individualized consulting.

• Small business loans and contract financing are available through CCV’s Neighborhood Transformation Loan Fund and the City of Chicago Small Business Loan Fund in amounts between $25,000 and $250,000. Competitive interest rates and low origination fees are available.
• Procurement services assist companies in doing business with the federal, state and local government as well as private corporations. Services include identification of procurement opportunities, solicitation analysis, bid/proposal preparation and central contractor registration.
• Matching Challenge Grants, funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, provide companies matching funds (up to $5,000) to complete projects that will help them reach a growth milestone. They can be used to obtain professional services such as business and professional training, technology or project audits and business plan assistance.
• Commercial Revitalization Deductions (CRD) enable for-profit businesses constructing or rehabilitating commercial property in Renewal Communities to deduct a portion of the costs over a shorter period of time than allowed under the standard depreciation rules, resulting in significant savings. CCV administers the allocation of the CRD program on behalf of the City of Chicago.
• Alternative financial resources, made available through CCV’s network, include making connections to angel investors, structuring equity deals, accessing alternative debt products and leveraging economic development incentives. CCV’s knowledge of available products for small business owners enables us to provide guidance based on the specific needs of the business.
• Individualized consulting provides strategic, one-on-one advisory services to help clients develop growth strategies and understand key issues facing their businesses. CCV works with start-up and existing companies to provide them with development of business plans, access to marketing information, assistance with financial analysis and planning, and access to business education and training opportunities.
